You’ve compared the options and taken a close look at what this tool does and doesn’t do. Here’s exactly how to use it.
Step 1: Process information
Enter the process title and department (choices span HR, Operations, Finance, IT, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Legal, and Other), a short purpose statement, and optionally a version number and effective date. Leave version or date blank if you don’t have one yet – the tool marks it “Not specified” rather than guessing.
Step 2: Procedure steps
Add each step in the order it should be performed – a title, detailed instructions, and optional notes. Add as many as the actual process needs; the generator won’t add extra ones you didn’t ask for.
Step 3: Roles and responsibilities
List who’s involved in this process and their key responsibility. Again, only what you enter shows up in the output – no extra roles get invented to make the document look more complete than it is.
Step 4: Generate, review, and use it
The tool produces a complete SOP built around what you entered. Copy the text, download it as a PDF, or regenerate if you want a different pass at the wording. Give it a human read-through before sharing it with your team – it’s a strong first draft, not a final policy document.
